How does your personal chef service work?

There are a couple of steps to get started:
First, Shoshana’s Kitchen will begin with an initial consultation to discuss your dietary needs and personal menu preferences

Second, Shoshana’s Kitchen will plan and customize a menu based on your food preferences, for your approval.

Once approved:
We will schedule a “cook day.” On your scheduled cook date, Shoshana will do all the shopping, cooking, cleaning, and packaging of your meals with labels and heating instructions. Items will be placed in your refrigerator or freezer, depending on the service you choose and then you get to enjoy

Are You Licensed And Insured?

Yes, Shoshana’s Kitchen Personal Chef Service carriers liability insurance through the USPCA and has a business license through the city of Albany, CA.

Do You Use My Cooking Equipment?

Shoshana’s Kitchen supplies all the cooking equipment, minus the stove and the refrigerator.

Do I Need To Be Home For The Cook Date?

No. Most clients actually prefer to be away, or are at work during the scheduled cook date.

What Do I Need To Do To Prepare For The Cook Date?

Please provide adequate space in the refrigerator and freezer. Please have the counters free from clutter so that there is space to cook in the kitchen. If you have purchased reusable containers from Shoshana’s Kitchen, please have them cleaned and ready so they may be used again.

What Forms Of Payment Do You Accept?

Shoshana’s Kitchen accepts personal checks or PayPal or Cash

What is the difference between a personal and a private chef?

A private chef is employed full time by one individual or family and often lives in their home and prepares all meals. A personal chef serves several clients. A personal chef provides multiple services that are custom designed based on client requests and dietary requirements.

What areas do you serve?

I serve the entire San Francisco Bay Area – specifically the East Bay, San Francisco, Marin and Solano Counties

Do you do dinner parties and/or catered events?
