Catering FAQs

What is the difference between a formal dinner party and catering?

A formal dinner party is usually plated or served “family style” with a server(s) and sometimes served in courses such as a salad course, appetizer course, main dish(es) and then dessert(s). Catering can include formal style dining but also can include buffet style service, passed appetizers or hors d’oeuvres, with servers, or platters to made for delivery without servers.

Do you have servers?

Yes, I have a lovely staff of friendly, professional people, who are also knowledgeable about the food being served.

How much do you charge for catering and dinner party events?

All events depend on several factors from the cost of food; i.e., organic/vs. conventional food prices, number of guests to be served and servers to be paid, etc. Please call Shoshana for a complete consultation of ideas and cost factors.

How far in advance do I need to contact you regarding scheduling a catering event?

Please call as much in advance as possible. I can usually accommodate most events, if enough time is given for planning and preparing.

Do you provide dishes and serving ware?

Serving ware is provided but all other dinnerware, flatware, linen, etc is rented from local party rental warehouses.

What kinds of foods do you prepare for catering and dinner party events?

All events are carefully planned between the client and Shoshana’s Kitchen. Menus are seasonal and are always changing. There simply isn’t enough room to write in all the menus here in this site.
